Fixed Blade Course
COST: R3800 for the entire course
Duration: 3 days
COURSE SUMMARY
This course is the reccomended course for beginners in the knife making field. You will start with roughly shaped piece of high-quality stainless steel in the shape of a blade blank. You will learn how to design different blade shapes and the different components of a high-quality knife. Belt sander and other machinery will be used to remove steel from your blank by using the stock removel technique. You will be taught the entire process to design and create a knife from a single piece of unsanded steel to a quality knife with a beautiful design.
Folding Knife Course
COST: R2800 for the entire course
Duration: 2 days
COURSE SUMMARY
This is the second reccomended course to take after completing your fixed blade knife course. This course is more difficult than the fixed blade course because it requires you to design a knife with all the parts being able to fit into each other. Only thn will your knife be abe to open and close upon command. You will learn all the steps you need to follow to design and craft a fully functional liner lock folding knife.
Andre Erasmus
Andre has always loved making knives. He has been doing it part-time since 2008, but after 2015 he decided to pursue his dream and is now doing it as his full-time job. He loves working with steel and some of his favourites are Damascus steel, N690, and 5160. He also enjoys building both fixed blade knives and folding knives.
Andre has a great eye for detail when designing his knives and uses exotic and interesting materials for his knife scales and handles. He strongly believes that the type of steel he uses for his knives needs to bring out the designs of the knives he invests his time in. Having Andre as your coach during a knife making course will ensure you have a quality experience and create exceptional knives.
